Privacy Policy

Meta Ads Downloader & Analyzer ("the Extension") is a Chrome browser extension created by Biren. This Privacy Policy explains how the Extension handles your data.
1. Data We Do Not Collect
The Extension does not:
- Collect, transmit, or store any personal information on external servers
- Send any browsing data, ad data, or usage statistics to third parties
- Use analytics, tracking pixels, or telemetry of any kind
- Require login or account registration
2. Data Stored Locally
The Extension stores the following data only on your device using Chrome's built-in chrome.storage.local API:
- Analysis history — brand names, ad formats, and run-time data from ads you choose to analyze
- Competitor watchlist — brand names you manually enter
- This data never leaves your browser and is never shared with anyone
3. Permissions Used
- downloads — to save media files (videos/images) to your computer when you click the download button
- activeTab — to inject the download/analyze buttons only on the Meta Ads Library page you are actively viewing
- scripting — required to inject the interface buttons into the Meta Ads Library page
- storage — to save your watchlist and analysis history locally on your device
- host_permissions (facebook.com, fbcdn.net) — to detect ad media URLs on Meta Ads Library pages and enable downloading media files from Facebook's CDN
4. Third-Party Services
The Extension opens claude.ai in a new tab when you use the Analyze feature. No data is automatically sent — you copy and paste the generated prompt manually. Claude's own Privacy Policy applies when you use that service.
5. Children's Privacy
The Extension is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect any information from children.
6. Changes to This Policy
Any updates will be reflected on this page with a new "Last updated" date.
